2 Methods to Listen to Spotify on Google Home

Google provides its own music services, known as YouTube Music, to its smart speakers. However, it also allows users to listen to songs from other music providers, such as Spotify, with Google Home, Google's voice-controlled smart speaker. If you are a Spotify subscriber and just bought a new Google Home, you may be looking forward to listening to Spotify music with this smart device.

To make it easier for you, here we have collected all the steps for setting up Spotify on Google Home to play your favorite songs and playlists. Part 2. How to Use Spotify on Google Home to Play

Once you have linked your Spotify account to Google Home, you can set Spotify as the default player on your Google Home. So you don't need to specify "on Spotify" every time you want to play Spotify music on Google Home. To do this, simply ask Google Home to play music. You will then have the opportunity to say “yes” to accept.

To listen to Spotify music with Google Home, you can use voice commands by saying "OK, Google", then...

“Play [song name by artist name]” to request a song.

“Stop” to stop the music.

“Pause” to pause the music.

“Set the volume to [level]” to control the volume.

Part 3. What to do if Spotify is not streaming on Google Home?

It's easy to listen to Spotify music on Google Home. However, you may encounter unexpected problems while using it. For example, Google Home may not respond when you ask it to play something on Spotify. Or you found that Spotify is not showing in Google Home when you try to link Spotify to Google Home.

Unfortunately, there are no official solutions to these problems yet. There are many potential reasons why the Google Home cannot start playing Spotify or cannot play it at all. So we've put together some tips to solve this problem. Try the solutions below to fix the issue with Spotify and Google Home.

1. Restart Google Home. Try restarting your Google Home when you can't pair your Spotify to play music.

2. Connect Spotify to Google Home. You can unlink the current Spotify account from your Google Home and connect it to your Google Home again.

3. Clear your Spotify app cache. It's possible that the app itself is intended to prevent you from playing music on your Google Home. You can tap Clear Cache in Settings to delete temporary files stored on your device.

4. Reset Google Home. You can reset Google Home to remove all device links, app links, and other settings you've made since you first installed it.

5. Check your account link on other devices. If your Spotify account is connected to another smart device for streaming, music will stop playing on Google Home.

6. Make sure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Google device. If not, you cannot link Spotify to Google Home to play music.
