How to Add Spotify Music to Keynote

A touch of multimedia can make your presentation more engaging and lively. Including an inspiring video clip or dramatic audio can not only leave an impression on the audience but also increase audience engagement. It's easy to add music to Keynote slides or embed videos in Keynote, but it's not easy to find a special soundtrack or sound.

Where to find a special soundtrack for your presentation? There are many music streaming platforms where you can select your favorites. Spotify stands out from the competition by officially offering over 40 million tracks from a wide range of artists. Whether you're looking for the latest Post Malone album or rock music from the 1960s, Spotify has you covered.

However, embedded audio files must be in a format that QuickTime supports on your Mac. Before you can add music to the Keynote slide, you must convert the Spotify music to an MPEG-4 file (with a .m4a file name extension). In this guide, we show you how to add Spotify music to Keynote, to enhance emotion in a presentation.

Part 2. Add Spotify Music to Keynote Slideshow

You can add video or audio to a slide. When you show the slide during a presentation, by default, video or audio plays when you click. You can set a video or audio loop and start timing so that the video or audio starts automatically when the slide appears. You can also add a soundtrack that plays throughout the presentation. Here's how to add music to Keynote slideshow.

How to Add Spotify Music to Keynote

Add existing audio files to Keynote

When you add the audio file to a slide, audio plays only when that slide is displayed in your presentation. Simply do one of the following:

Drag an audio file from your computer to an audio location or anywhere else on the slide. You can also click the "Media" button marked with the square icon with a musical note, then click the "Music" button, and then drag a file to a media location or anywhere else on the slide.

Add a soundtrack to Keynote

A soundtrack begins to play when the presentation starts. If some slides already have video or audio, the soundtrack plays on those slides as well. A file added as a soundtrack is always played from its beginning.

Click the "Shape" button in the toolbar, then click the Audio tab at the top of the right sidebar. Then click the “Add” button to select one or more songs or playlists to add to the soundtrack. Finally, click the soundtrack drop-down menu, then choose an option including Off, Play Once, and Loop.
